Case Study: Supporting Jack's Success
- Name: Jack
- Age: 4-6 (during intervention)
- Diagnosis: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Jack, a bright and energetic preschooler, faced challenges with social interactions, communication, and emotional regulation. While he was eager to explore and learn, these difficulties held him back from fully participating in social and academic settings.
- Enhance social skills and build relationships with peers.
- Improve communication and language development.
- Expand play skills and foster imagination.
- Develop effective strategies for emotional regulation.
Malky provided comprehensive support over two years, using a combination of:
- Individual Sessions: Bi-weekly, 30-minute one-on-one sessions to focus on communication and self-regulation.
- Social Skills Groups: Weekly 45-minute sessions to practice interacting with peers in a supportive setting.
- Classroom Support: Close collaboration with teachers to integrate Jack’s progress into his everyday school environment.
After two years of targeted support:
- Jack significantly improved his ability to initiate and maintain friendships, becoming more comfortable in social settings.
- His communication skills advanced, as he began using more complex sentences and gestures to express himself.
- Playtime became a space for creativity, with Jack engaging in imaginative play, sharing, and cooperative activities.
- Emotional regulation skills helped reduce tantrums and increase his ability to use self-calming strategies.
- Initial difficulty with separating from parents at the start of sessions.
- Struggles with sharing toys and taking turns during group activities.
- Sensory integration challenges that made transitions difficult.
- Jack actively participated in circle time and group activities, a major milestone for him.
- He developed meaningful friendships with peers, a boost to his social confidence.
- He showed increased independence, self-regulation, and a positive sense of self-worth.
A key goal of Malky’s intervention was to help Jack transition successfully into a mainstream preschool classroom. This support led to:
- Improved peer interactions and friendships.
- Greater academic engagement and participation.
- Increased flexibility and adaptability during class activities.
- Reduced anxiety and smoother transitions between different classroom settings.
We are beyond grateful to Malky for the incredible support she provided to our son, Jack. She worked with him on reading, academic support, and social thinking, helping him thrive both socially and academically in the classroom. Her ability to connect with him and provide him with the tools he needed was truly extraordinary. We cannot recommend Malky enough—her dedication and care have made a lasting impact on our child.

Malky is an exceptional teacher! She taught my 12-year-old son to read Hebrew, making learning fun and engaging. Her creative approach helped him grasp the language quickly. Thanks to Malky, he confidently read his Bar Mitzvah parsha and mastered Hebrew reading. I highly recommend her!

Malky is amazing and I highly recommend her! She is an expert at teaching both kriah and reading using evidence based practices. But even more importantly, she knows how to connect to kids and make them feel confident and successful. I really value her work both on a professional and personal level.
